Female with dark hair, smiling, in electric wheelchair

My name is Michelle.

As you can see, I am an electric wheelchair user and have been for many years. I have HSP (Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia) and Multiple Sclerosis.

I have been very fortunate in my life, with a supportive family and good educational opportunities.

I have worked in special education for 24 years. This opportunity has provided a good understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people. The majority of these challenges can be overcome through the use of assistive technology. This led to my decision to undertake further study and the completion of a Master's Degree in Educational Assistive Technology through the University of Dundee.

Hi, I'm Mario.

I have worked in the special education sector for some years. My specific area of interest at the time was enabling young people with ASD to reach their educational potential.

In recent years I have become more involved with special education and children with physical disabilities, especially those facing communication challenges.

Another passion I hold is supporting those in times of grief - this may appear to be a unusual combination, but grief is not simply concerned with the death of a loved one, for some families I have met they feel a sense of grief over the loss of the potential life they felt their unborn child would have. We offer bereavement workshops for anyone who feels any type of bereavement.
